Crazy high CPMs (up to $380), what to do?
We just launched ads for our health supplement, and the CPMs are CRAZY HIGH!
As high as $380 USD 😳
It's day 2 of running ads and our average CPM is $144.
20 ad creatives in one CBO.

We have decent creative diversity with 5 to 8 primary texts each, 3 to 5 headlines each, 2 descriptions.
Destination URL is shopify PDP.
Some of the creatives have no words at all, just a simple photo of the product...yet still $100+ CPM

What's the #1 thing you'd recommend I work on to reduce CPMs?

I'm not sure if it's a ad copy problem, creative problem, campaign structure problem, or funnel problem.
But since the creatives and copy are diverse, I'm leaning toward an issue with the landing page, but interested in your expert opinions.
(The FB Page health is good even though it has few posts)
Thank you in advance!

<@U09KB376KV3> no funding here so we need to be a bit careful at our stage of business, but hopefully we can get close to break even with some level of scale after testing and optimization.
Whenever I see webinars or youtube videos that show screenshots, everyone is profitable on Meta.
But my gut feel is that only the best performing accounts are cherrypicked for these videos, and first order profitability is not the usual result for supplements where CPMs are often in the $50-150 range.

Kind of similar to you, if I could go back in time, I'd keep my job for financial stability because I didn't realize how cash intensive and slow this business can be before reaching profitability. Glad I pushed through and got there eventually.

I like your realistic perspective, many agency people don't have a full appreciation of what it takes to get a business profitable and sustainable. Many suggest "high budget for 2 weeks to let the algo learn" and if it results in massive financial losses "oh well". I had one agency spend $5k/day on our ads with this thinking, which burned a $2.5k hole in our bank account daily. Big mistake for us.

What's a realistic outcome from Meta ads for a health supplement brand advertising in the USA?
I understand that there are a bazillion variables like product, offer, creative, AOV, LTV etc.

But do most supplement brands at least break even?
Or are most brands first order negative and then hope to build profit with repeat purchases?

We would be ok with hitting break even, just wondering if that's a reasonable expectation these days on meta ads for supplements.

#marketing-paid - January 10, 2026 at 04:00 AM

<@U09KB376KV3> gotcha, I'll take that same approach too.

> "the brain power should be in creatives"
Really valuable point. I see so many ppl using tools to take designs from other brands and just use AI to switch in the next and product image.
But what you say makes sense...spend extra time on crafting the message and creative. Quality over quantity in a sense.

#marketing-paid - January 10, 2026 at 01:07 AM

Wow, thanks for the epic value add and gameplan @Laurent Maas, I'll be following that when we launch. Thank you so much!

<@U08GA578WCD> do you have a maximum number of ads in that ad set?
For example, if I launch 12 ads and 5 of them clearly bomb out. Can I just add another 12 new ads, so there's 19 live ads in the ad set?

Also, what's the verdict on allowing Meta to do all the enhancements and ad copy variants that it wants?

Should this be reserved only for once we have winning ads, or does Meta know best and we should give it free rein from the start, even with a low budget?

#marketing-paid - January 09, 2026 at 05:07 AM

Meta Ads question:
We are just about to start running meta ads, small budget of $100/day in the health supplement space.
For a small budget, do you recommend using interest targeting instead of broad to help the algo find buyers from a smaller pool?

#general-chat - January 01, 2026 at 10:15 PM

<@U08GMTJRYJD> I'm interested in both.
Since I'm new to this, probably leveraging a service/platform first, then working towards building a system internally to scale.
Do you have any suggestions/recommendations?

#general-chat - December 22, 2025 at 09:01 PM

<@U09D6HLSW6S> do you know where people buy these accounts/bot farms?
My problem right now is scaling beyond a few accounts on my phone, and I'm looking for a solution that's cheaper and faster than hiring offshore ppl and buying them phones

#general-chat - December 22, 2025 at 04:20 AM

I see some brands posting AI-generated content across 50+ (even 100+) tiktok accounts.
How is it possible to create more than a few accounts? I think one phone can have maximum 8 accounts.
Does anyone know how they're able to create large numbers of tiktok accounts (aside from hire 15 staff to manage one phone each)?

@Sambhav Chadha would love to see your video too please. Thank you in advance!

Is anyone else seeing NO data in your Amz ppc ads Campaign Manager table?
The ads are serving, we're getting sales and the line graph is visible... but the table of data is blank so I have no way of knowing what each campaign is doing.
Is it just me?

#ops-inventory - June 25, 2025 at 08:09 AM

Hi @Jim Huffman thanks for chiming in. Do they directly list products on Amazon? Is that how they have Amazon experience, or is it though their clients?

Our concerns are more to do with the Amazon side when formulation changes (rather than needing advice on the formulation itself)

#ops-inventory - June 20, 2025 at 09:43 AM

Hi all, do you know someone who specializes in supplements on Amazon?
We're looking to improve the formulation of a supplement, and we know there's all kinds of issues that can arise from doing so, whether it be from the lab test or Amazon themselves.
We'd rather get it done right and avoid the hassles by consulting wth an expert.
Are you an expert in this field or do you know someone who is?

#general-chat - June 04, 2025 at 11:23 AM

<@U081Z0JQ718> I already pulled my hair out on this. No hair left 😞
I couldn't find a way around it

#ops-inventory - May 21, 2025 at 01:17 AM

Thanks for the insights @Fred McKinnon
We're super busy at the moment but late next month could be a good time so I'll reach out to you for an intro then.
Thanks Fred!

#ops-inventory - May 20, 2025 at 12:03 AM

@Fred McKinnon oooh, so PixelMe can tell the Meta pixel and Google pixel that an Amazon sale occurred?
I tried searching around but can't get a straight answer on this.
Some articles and videos say that PixelMe can track the Amazon sales from Meta/Google, but they don't say that it can ping back at the Meta/Google pixels.

<@U081Z0JQ718> that's a great tip, thank you for suggesting it. I'll give it a try today 🙏

<@U086LPFK34L> I'd never heard of Jacob Posel, just followed him on Twitter. Looks like a pro, and many guys that I follow also follow him.
Thank you for laying out your process, I'll give that a try today as well.
Is Gemini better than ChatGPT for researching for Step 1?

<@U086STT605R> thank you, I'll digest this paper and level up my propt engineering skills. Appreciate the share!

#marketing-creatives-lp - April 28, 2025 at 01:37 AM

That makes sense <@U081Z0JQ718> , it's def a skill that I need to sharpen upon.
My thinking was to shortcut the process in case someone has dialled it their prompts for ad creatives through experience and iterations, since I don't consider static ad creatives my strength (even less so for AI prompting)

#marketing-creatives-lp - April 27, 2025 at 11:19 PM

Hi guys, I'm late on the AI train, but have just started geeking out on AI for our paid traffic funnels.
I only have basic prompts for ad creative images though, and they are not as creative, different, and eye-catching as I'd like.
Can you recommend a person/website that I can follow/buy well written prompts to help generate really unique static ad creatives that cut through the noise on meta?

#ops-inventory - April 24, 2025 at 03:32 AM

@Fred McKinnon I'd love to eventually make it to one of the live meetups. It's a long way from Australia where I live, but no doubt these events would be next level.
Maybe the one after Bozeman!

#ops-inventory - April 24, 2025 at 12:36 AM

@Fred McKinnon ohhh I just realized I've been watching your videos lately...and they're really valuable!
My biz partner linked me to your PDP teardown video a couple of weeks ago and it was so insightful.

Keep up the great work with your YT channel, I've only just started going deep with Amazon these past few weeks and your channel is the best I've come across.
I've just joined the ECF forum a few weeks ago, and I think you're in there too.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom @Fred McKinnon, we'd love to explore your services when the time is right.

#ops-inventory - April 23, 2025 at 04:41 AM

Thanks for sharing your thoughts @Nick Tollison @Andrew Bonasso @Fred McKinnon @Menachem Ani

@Nick Tollison I love your tip about theming keywords and sending some to a lander, and some to PDP.
I never considered that before, but it makes a lot of sense and we're going to take your advice. Great tip on including the entire catalog too.

#ops-inventory - April 21, 2025 at 11:33 PM

Is it possible (and compliant) for us to advertise Amazon our products on Google ads, using amazon attribution links as the destination URL?

#marketing-paid - April 15, 2025 at 12:22 AM

You're the man <@U089DHC25HT>!
Loving your regular insights on AI prompts

#general-chat - April 01, 2025 at 04:04 AM

Do you know of an agency that charges a flat fee for organizing a creator/micro-influencer post?
I've heard of an agency that does this for $70-80 per post, but can't remember their name 🙃

#marketing-creatives-lp - March 27, 2025 at 04:39 AM

@Jason Brown we use https://soona.co/ and they have been great. They take a bunch of photos then you choose which ones you want to purchase.

#ops-inventory - March 21, 2025 at 12:54 AM

@Dhruv Sood I'll DM you!

#ops-inventory - March 20, 2025 at 03:31 AM

Do you know anyone who has nailed external traffic > Amazon for a health supplement?

We have no idea where to start to be honest, but we know it's something we must do.
Looking to speak with an expert who has had success, or if you can point me toward a online resource where I can learn, I'd be super appreciative 🙏
Thank you!

#general-chat - February 28, 2025 at 07:46 AM

Can anyone recommend a US-based attorney who reviews health supplement labels for legal compliance?
The guys we've been using are crazy expensive (I think $750/hour), so I'm looking for a more affordable solution.
Thank you in advance!

#general-chat - February 14, 2025 at 08:53 PM

Thanks for the suggestion @Guido
I'll give Open AI a try.
I agree about the 'in hindsight - a waste of money'.

I was just quoted $800 for a USPTO search (which I can do myself) or $3k for more comprehensive searches beyond USPTO.

@Jesse Tilner my main sticking point is 'unregistered use' that poses a risk for acquiring a TM (which is outside of USPTO).
Even if a brand does not own a trademark, if it has been selling a product by the same name on some random website, that could cause my TM application to fail.

#general-chat - February 14, 2025 at 04:53 AM

Does anyone know an affordable trademark lawyer in the USA?
I'm not looking to apply for the trademark just yet.
More like paying for early stage research for whether our new product name has a high chance of acquiring the trademark, should we choose to apply for it after the product gets traction.
Do you go through this process before finalising product names for new product lines?

#ops-inventory - January 28, 2025 at 10:24 AM

Thank you <@U080J256WV9>! 🙏

#ops-inventory - January 08, 2025 at 02:42 AM

Hi <@U080J256WV9> we consulted an expert who deals with this kind of thing.
They lean toward an 'every body is different and can respond differently' approach, and give as much supporting evidence of us using quality ingredients/manufacturers as well as demonstrating that we really do care about customers and product quality.

Is that a theme you've seen work well?
Do you have any tips to enhance the strength of the reply?

#ops-inventory - January 03, 2025 at 02:24 AM

Not yet @Shin Takeda

#ops-inventory - January 02, 2025 at 02:51 AM

Supplement brands: Have you dealt with a 'Customer Complaint – Food Safety' case from Amazon?

We just had a customer write a review that their heart rate increased after taking our product, so we need to respond to a bunch of Qs otherwise Amazon will deactivate our listing 😬 (very scary)

These are Amazon's questions:
1. Has this product/formulation been subject to a recall in the last twelve (12) months? If yes, what actions did you take to address the recall?
2. Based on investigation, what is the identified a root cause for this issue?
3. If you identified a root cause, please provide a corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plan and timeline of completion. Please also attach documented proof of plan/completion.
4. B. If your product is a Supplement: Please provide the HACCP / GMP / GFSI / Product Enrollment Program certificate or Food Safety Plan in place.
Please attach the certificate or documented program indicating if biological and chemical hazards are assessed. Please note: the plan date must be within the last 3 years. If the required documents are not available, please justify why
5. Please provide the manufacturer's best contact information to share with concerned customers.

If you've dealt with this kind of issue before, do you have any advice on how to approach this?

Thanks @Katie Kay these new requirements sure are a pain, but I guess good in the long run for the consumer cos it's been the wild west out there with supps

Thanks for chiming in @Tom Ly!

Does anyone have experience with probiotic-containing formulations on Amazon?
I'm hearing that probiotics are very prone to scrutiny by Amazon compliance testing, which means that Amazon may take down the listing and it will cost $$$, time and frustration to resolve.
Do you have any tips/tricks to lessen the chance of interruption on Amazon for items containing probiotic strains?

#general-chat - November 26, 2024 at 08:34 PM

Hi friends, do you need a phone conversation superstar who will be a 'virtual bestie' for your customers?
Due to a shift in business direction, we are unfortunately letting go of a team member whose role was to build relationships with our customers and 'humanise' our online brand.
She brings energy and positivity to any conversation, and I'd love to help her find her next opportunity if I can.
If you speak to her, you'll want to talk for hours.
She lives near Atlanta in the USA and aged in her late 40s.
If you're interested, pls send me a DM!

#general-chat - July 26, 2024 at 01:43 AM

Great suggestion @Jesse Tilner
Thank you!

#general-chat - July 25, 2024 at 08:27 AM

@Jesse Tilner they are not established yet, so I don't think they've heard of whitelisting before.

This lady is similar to creators on Billo where they create paid content but doesn't have many followers on her own socials

#general-chat - July 24, 2024 at 08:48 AM

How do you pitch 'whitelisting' to a creator in a way that makes sense and is compelling to them?

We are thinking: 'Earn consistent and predictable income each month by creating content that promotes our products, and we'll pay for ads to promote your content'.
It's the first time we're attempting whitelisting, so if you've found a certain pitch that works well, I'd love to hear your ideas if you don't mind sharing!
Thank you in advance 🙏

#general-chat - March 17, 2024 at 11:44 PM

@Sambhav Chadha if you can send me some examples that would be AMAZING!!
We are small and this is completely unchartered territory for us.
I know this is an important part of the path forward, just don't have a process yet.
Your guidance has been so valuable, I really appreciate it bro! 🙏

#general-chat - March 17, 2024 at 10:38 PM

@Sambhav Chadha is your personalized note handwritten?
And is the founder video messaging geared towards influencers (as opposed to the usual mission-focused founder video)?

#general-chat - March 17, 2024 at 11:41 AM

@Sambhav Chadha are you sending just your product in packages? Or are you making personalized care packages with all kinds of goodies in a fancy box?

#general-chat - March 17, 2024 at 11:40 AM

Wowzee! 1000+ packages/mo, you're a machine @Sambhav Chadha!

Thank you for the guidance, that's exactly what I was looking for 🙏
