Can anyone recommend a freelancer or small agency to rebuild Amazon listings (images, titles, storefront, etc)? We’ve Sold on Amazon in the past but need to rebuild the store and listings for our new products. Thanks!

anyone running a successful blog on Shopify (not Wordpress)? looking for examples.

Thanks, @Zoe Jirgens. Most of the results in Google are outdated or too basic.

Here are a few more if they’re useful to you:

What’s the best resource for mastering Google Shopping Ads? Need to brush up on the latest best practices before restarting some campaigns.

#everything-marketing - March 20, 2024 at 10:52 PM

@Andrew Watson Yep, we have devs who can build templates as needed. I’m just looking for good examples for inspiration. And trying to find anyone doing well (esp in SEO) without a ton of SKUs.

#everything-marketing - March 20, 2024 at 10:35 PM

Has anyone seen good examples of brands making content-rich collection pages?

We have some collections getting organic traffic but not converting well. Since we have a limited number of SKUs, I’m trying to build up the page to offer something other than an endless scroll of products. My idea is to turn the collection page into more of a landing page with information, video, etc. to reduce the bounce rate and get people exploring the site.

For example, Rumpl has some content below their product grid. Anyone else?

+1 for Loop

#tech-talk - February 22, 2024 at 07:57 PM

Can anyone recommend a tool for searching and filtering YouTube channels and videos (aside from YouTube itself)? Trying to find similar channels to ones that are already working for us.

#meetups-events - February 20, 2024 at 12:06 AM

Is this new? Or have I just never heard of it?

#tech-talk - February 16, 2024 at 05:36 PM

The problem with Shopify’s traffic data is that it’s not in their API so you can’t pull it into any other reporting tools. We use Databox for daily/monthly reporting. Databox can pull in Shopify sales data but not traffic or funnel-related data.

I’m planning to add a simple (paid) analytics tool like Plausible or Fathom to supplement GA4 so I don’t have to use it.

#tech-talk - February 07, 2024 at 07:56 PM

We tried Slide Rule to fix a discrepancy between revenue in Shopify and in GA. Slide Rule fixed that but the revenue was attributed to ‘not set’ so it wasn’t actually a useful soltuion. We switched to Elevar which reduce the % attributed to not set.

#everything-marketing - January 26, 2024 at 05:41 PM

We try to balance it out. We used to use a slower, softer sell and focus on education in the welcome flow.

Then someone told me that joining an email list is a great signal that they’re ready to buy. Duh!

So now, we make an offer immediately. Then, if they don’t buy we do the slower sell and make another offer after a few more emails spread over a few weeks.

#everything-marketing - January 23, 2024 at 05:51 PM

• Ask what they like about your product/s and double down on that.
• Ask what you could be doing better and improve that.
• Ask what products and brand they love in [your category] and see where you can apply your strengths to those to create something new and valuable.
• Ask which of the following options they would most want from you.
Customers, of course, aren’t great at telling you what to build next.

Anyone else getting these? I heard of the price transparency in search results, but the Chrome alerts are new to me.

#cx-retention - November 03, 2023 at 12:06 AM

have you gotten any pushback since the whole point of unsplash is that you don’t have to pay for or attribute anything?

#tech-talk - November 02, 2023 at 12:06 AM

We’re using and liking Videowise for this. Not super cheap, but worthwhile for us.

#paid-media - August 31, 2023 at 05:36 PM

@Chris Lang Would she be a fit for this role that I just posted? If so, have her apply or DM/email me. https://limitedsupply.slack.com/archives/C04UDA30C2X/p1693252156421169

Can anyone recommend a Freelance Retention Marketer (Email and SMS) who is great at copywriting?

Here’s the scorecard / RFP: https://apply.workable.com/tortuga/j/136F9CCA12/

(A small agency could work, but we prefer to work directly and primarily with the practitioner, not a PM.)

#general-chat - August 22, 2023 at 08:39 PM

hi @Sam Alter!

I’ve had my Jarvis for ~8 years now with zero problems. You can customize it and save your sit/stand heights. Make sure to not cheap out. You want something heavy so it’s stable when you’re standing and it’s maxed out.

#paid-media - August 14, 2023 at 03:59 PM

Does anyone have a reliable Wordpress dev for a few simple jobs?

#paid-media - July 11, 2023 at 08:32 PM

@Deb Mukherjee Thanks, but any bookkeepers with “burn rate” featured prominently on their homepage is not a good fit for us. 🙂

@Dan Gray Already tested them but it’s too early for us.

#paid-media - July 10, 2023 at 09:47 PM

Anyone used Unloop or Bean Ninjas for bookkeeping and willing to provide a reference?

#tech-talk - July 10, 2023 at 07:05 PM

Short-term, just Users, Sessions, and Ecommerce Conversion Rate. I know that the latter will need to be User or Session Conversion Rate in GA4.

#tech-talk - July 10, 2023 at 06:43 PM

GA4 Q: Is anyone segmenting subdomain traffic within GA4? How?

We have separate “views” in UA for our blog and store subdomains so that we could look at metrics separately and connect individual subdomains to other tools like Databox. In our case, this was helpful for looking at the conversion rate of the store without lumping in the blog traffic (higher volume, lower CVR).

Is there a way to do this in GA4? Or does it require duplicating code to create another view/data stream?

#paid-media - July 06, 2023 at 09:21 PM

@Jamie Bond (RUX Co-Founder) i’ll dm you

#paid-media - July 05, 2023 at 11:34 PM

I’m in the middle of auditing a few options, mostly ecommerce specific, right now. Not sure about USD/CAD tho.

#top-posts - June 27, 2023 at 06:41 PM

way better than most insurance companies where i don’t have an account, can’t do autopay, and have to get statements by mail 😱

#top-posts - June 27, 2023 at 04:32 PM

I like Embroker for BOP insurance. Easy to use and renew online. Good support. And you can request a certificate of insurance online whenever needed. My bias is towards convenience over price here but your mileage may vary.

#meetups-events - June 15, 2023 at 04:46 PM

Anyone going to Outdoor Retailer in SLC next week?

#tech-talk - June 02, 2023 at 07:26 PM

@Natalie Bowman Are you managing Finaloop all internally? Or do you have a bookkeeper or other finance person reviewing? I’m handling ours myself during the test but don’t feel 100% confident in that process going forward.

#tech-talk - June 02, 2023 at 05:41 PM

I recently started testing Finaloop alongside our Xero + bookkeeper set up. Promising so far. Lots to build still though.

They have a CF report but nothing about forecasting/runway.

#limited-supply - May 18, 2023 at 04:13 PM

What’s the etiquette if you’re listening to an episode and @Nik Sharma and @Moiz Ali are complaining about all the same same brands in your space (luggage)? Are we allowed to raise our hand and volunteer to help? 🙋 🎒

What’s everyone using for custom packaging? Looking for light customization to level up our packaging with costs in mind, not blowing it out and color printing on every surface.

• Custom size boxes and one color printing
• Tape
• Sticker and postcard inserts

#general-chat - May 03, 2023 at 02:48 PM

+1 for TaxJar’s “Nexus checker” especially for economic nexus. Much easier than looking up every state and comparing your sales to their limits.

#general-chat - May 03, 2023 at 12:18 AM

@Ahmad Abdallah You can do one-off audits/teardowns (like Oddit) or work on an ongoing basis with a CRO (conversion rate optimization) service. I’ve done the former and plan to start up with the latter in a few months.

#top-posts - May 02, 2023 at 03:27 PM

Make sure to check what is ranking for the potential SEO keywords and Google’s presumed search intent. For us, Google mostly ranks “best of” lists with a few collection pages sprinkled in. PDPs rarely rank, so they aren’t worth naming with SEO in mind.

#tech-talk - April 28, 2023 at 03:31 PM

If it works for bags too, I’d be interested. Not apparel but still soft goods.

#general-chat - April 24, 2023 at 02:54 PM

Is anyone using Shopify > Supermetrics > Looker (Google Data Studio) for reporting and getting wrong numbers the last few weeks?

Our gross revenue is correct, but net revenue, total revenue, and return rate are all wrong in Looker. Anyone else? Have a better solution for daily/weekly/monthly reporting?

#tech-talk - April 19, 2023 at 04:41 PM

@Aaron Alpeter Sure, though my “dull butter knife” of a spreadsheet probably looks like child’s play to anyone with experience at higher volumes.

#tech-talk - April 19, 2023 at 04:00 PM

If anyone has a better solution to the latter, please let me know!

#tech-talk - April 19, 2023 at 04:00 PM

I reviewed a bunch of options earlier this year and have been using Cogsy for a few months.

Pros: Great at reactive inventory management, i.e. telling you when to reorder bc a SKU has hit a certain threshold. Cogsy also shows projected sales by SKU for the next year which is helpful for planning.

Cons: Cogsy (and every other tool I looked at) doesn’t help with proactive order planning. None of the tools are designed to help you, for example, plan monthly/quarterly orders for the next 1-2 years. I need to plan ahead bc we order 2-4 times per year, not as needed. We also need to plan production availability with our vendors ahead of time. For that, I use Cogsy’s forecasts then build my own Excel with their data.

Bootstrapped and approaching 13 years, so yes.
