Anyone see any impact to performance with the news cycle? We were RIPPING and then Sat afternoon went 100% cold. Like, CAC increased 10x.

#general-chat - November 06, 2025 at 06:19 PM

We're launching today

#general-chat - October 01, 2025 at 07:38 PM

When’s everyone launching their black friday sales this year?

#marketing-paid - March 28, 2025 at 11:11 PM

Dope! Can't wait to try it out

#marketing-paid - February 07, 2025 at 04:31 AM

@Sandeep Bansal That kicks ass. Love it!

#marketing-paid - February 06, 2025 at 07:11 PM

How’s media going for everyone right now? We had a very very hard Jan, but Feb is ripping for us in the limited start

#meetups-losangeles - January 08, 2025 at 10:08 PM

Let's go it. Be forewarned though, hard to dislodge me from the Westside ;)

#general-chat - December 28, 2024 at 05:08 AM

Also, chatgpt makes a reasonable model as mentioned above. Use the previous paragraph to eyeball it to make sure it scratches those itches

#general-chat - December 28, 2024 at 05:07 AM

V2 / v3 etc you can start to worry more about inventory replenishment and cashflow. The logic should flow from the initial model with inventory per purchase assumptions. If you're starting from scratch, I'd start without this to not make it all too daunting

#general-chat - December 28, 2024 at 05:06 AM

@Anthony Guynes a million basic ecomm models lying around the internet to work off of.

Look for something with acquisition then a cobort based retention. Don't go too crazy on V1, it'll just be false precision.

Like, something you can whip up in excel in a few hours.

Use spend, cac, retention and AOV as inputs and offer them as levers.

Build month to month then give investors a rolled up quarterly with upside and downside projections. (Obviously make the downside look not too terrible, if it needs saying ;) )

#general-chat - December 25, 2024 at 09:16 PM

If you want another set of eyeballs, there's nothing I love more than another company's model. We've also raised ~30m over the last three years, so have some experience with what potential investors expect

#general-chat - December 25, 2024 at 09:11 PM

You can also drop the model in chatgpt and ask for a roll-up these days... But the results I've had with that have been mixed

#general-chat - December 25, 2024 at 09:10 PM

Do you have a model? I like to take the salient model points and roll them up.

The Drivepoint folks have a great template and may be willing to share for a model if you don't have one.

#general-chat - December 13, 2024 at 02:29 AM

Lots of rumors swirling. But seems locked in and seems like health brands won't be able to pass back down funnel events.

I assume Facebook is trying to fix it. Lots of ad dollars in health

#marketing-creatives-lp - December 04, 2024 at 02:45 AM

My perspective is always that anyone buying from us in two years hasn't heard of us today anyway. So our tactics today don't matter all that much for future brand impact.

But everyone does "Oops, we extended our sale!"

#marketing-creatives-lp - December 04, 2024 at 02:24 AM

As long as CAC stays low ;) last year we flipped it off on Dec 6 because we had too much demand.

#general-chat - December 03, 2024 at 10:33 PM

Anyone heard any news on Facebook’s new health and wellness rules: https://www.kevintholland.com/what-metas-2025-restrictions-mean-for-data-and-product-leaders/

Apparently h+w advertisers can’t run purchase optimized events starting in Jan. Anyone have a hookup inside of Meta to validate?

#jobs-and-talent - December 03, 2024 at 03:06 AM

At Lifeforce we're hiring an SVP marketing to manage all marketing.

Check us out at https://www.mylifeforce.com . We're a telehealth driven longevity clinic that sells 100% over DTC.
Shoot me a note if you know anyone or are interested!

#general-chat - November 29, 2024 at 11:45 PM

Hey guys! Little solidarity for everyone out there obsessively hitting refresh today. Hope y'all are killing it today

#marketing-paid - November 28, 2024 at 01:36 AM

We're tracking ... Better than last year, but not commensurately better to our media spend. I feel like BFCM is always a dart throw!

#marketing-paid - November 28, 2024 at 01:35 AM

Hasn't hit yet! Last year our cpas went down 75% on BF. Dropped like a rock

#marketing-content - November 26, 2024 at 11:55 PM

@Shin Takeda You can give out the code “lsexclusive” It’ll be $200 off our membership, which is a better deal than we have onsite for BFCM for limited supply subscribers. (Also deeper than we ever discount!)

#brand-wins - November 22, 2024 at 04:04 AM

Is that like 10m in revenue run to like 300m in revenue run in three months?!?

#brand-wins - November 22, 2024 at 04:04 AM

210k per month of spend to $6m in ad spend from Sept to Dec???

#marketing-content - November 22, 2024 at 12:18 AM

@Shin Takeda glad to offer everyone in this slack $50 off of our BFCM deal if they wanna check out www.mylifeforce.com. LMK what you need! (just a code??)

#marketing-paid - November 14, 2024 at 12:26 PM

If you change the conversion event to ATC, can you carry the learnings on the campaign forward to purchase optimized campaigns later?

#marketing-paid - July 29, 2024 at 04:34 PM

Generally I think when you feel really good about LTV, spend into a little loss to get the LTV makes sense. The cash cycle of that payback, your cash position and your tolerance for risk with that cash will be what determines growth.

Say you lose 23 per customer, that lands you at month two payback, based on subscriber numbers depending on churn. Know your cohort payback like the back of your hand if you’re going to lose $$$ on the first order!

On another note, if you’re comfortable would you share the product? I’m very curious about new and cool things in this space since it’s also where my company operates.

#brand-wins - July 19, 2024 at 02:07 AM

What's your company? :)

#ops-supply-chain - July 13, 2024 at 04:22 AM

+1 want this! Someone should build it otherwise. Feels like a great basement hacker project

#marketing-creatives-lp - May 28, 2024 at 01:24 AM

Kno people are really great

#general-chat - January 22, 2024 at 05:01 AM

To this point, I know some that run at 70%+.

Depends on so much!

#general-chat - December 12, 2023 at 09:24 PM

Anyone have any good tips or tricks on hiring general purpose VAs? Things like replying to facebook comments on ads, logging into partner platforms and copying and pasting reporting into excel etc

#bfcm - December 01, 2023 at 02:48 AM

For first time buyers of your brands this year, what percent of them did you have their email before November?

#bfcm - November 23, 2023 at 09:44 PM

So good!

We track to projected CAC/LTV and payback rather than ROAs. Normal cohorts are like 8 months payback, projected payback on this cohort is 2.5 months. Normal projected CAC/LTV 7.7, this cohort more like 19.

Also probably double our largest ever acquired cohort. Hope everyone else is killing!

#bfcm - November 16, 2023 at 05:15 PM

How we all doing?! We launched our offer yesterday, but spent a second warming it up first

Couple quick learnings from our end.

• Ads leading with the offer first are smashing on CPAs vs ads presenting the value prop. (Aka, “$300 off Lifeforce” beats “Proactive medicine at $300 off”
• “Get $300 off” for some reason is losing to like every other conceivable CTA (Take $300 off)
• $300 off is beating 54% off by a country mile at the moment

#bfcm - November 16, 2023 at 05:12 PM

Robot mop/vacuum, Dreametech or roborock. Kitchen floor needs more regular mopping!

#general-chat - October 23, 2023 at 06:11 PM

Anyone here doing like $10-40m in revenue run want to do some sharing of P&Ls? Would love to get an idea of where other brands live.

#announcements - September 14, 2023 at 09:48 PM

Before we were mostly pmax, when we found google terms that had some volume and were a bit underbid, they’d smash for us

#announcements - September 14, 2023 at 09:48 PM

I’m aligned here. How much of the google stuff is branded? (Or impossible to tell because it’s pmax?)

#general-chat - September 14, 2023 at 09:46 PM

https://www.linkedin.com/in/codywittick/ <-- Runs an agency focused on this tactic if you want a chat

#podcast-limited-supply - August 20, 2023 at 11:39 AM

Awesome insights. Thanks. What was the overall I assume you guys also few brand penetration year over year. How much added success do you attribute to the tactics vs. the growth you drove overall?

#general-chat - August 17, 2023 at 06:04 AM

We use Ampla. The payment structure of these things has a very real impact on your effective apr. Do your math for sure. Not sure what folks get from Ampla, but they've been very transparent and haven't played games here. I'd use them without any compunction. (Transparently our venture backers also backed them... But I'd tell you if they sucked)

An LOC with a bank is a great option, but not always possible, they don't get your e-comm company.

#marketing-creatives-lp - August 06, 2023 at 07:09 PM

We use CTC. Good people, help you think about your business. Pretty expensive depending on your working budget. Can make an intro.

Also have worked with Frank at RealEyes and have friend who still do. Also a smart good dtc operator. Also can intro there.

Generally really important to assess your needs in this situation. Do you need help with the creative, or do you have it and they're just running the ads. Do they also need to think about CRO? Do you want them helping you think about structure of revenue and how that can make you money? Do you want them helping with creative strategy and what hooks you're gonna test?

Generally having to rely less on them and getting them into their zone of magic has worked best for me

#general-chat - August 06, 2023 at 07:04 PM

We use Horatio. Totally fine. Also know the folks at awesome is and they're good people. Can make an intro either way

#podcast-limited-supply - August 06, 2023 at 05:20 PM

Late to this party, but the way I always think about this is you can have any of the following three advantages to launch and it will make your life easier. You can win without any, but it'll require really strong execution

  1. Distribution - Better way to get at customers. Aka. best friend manages several whole foods or co-founder with great Instagram reach etc.
  2. Product - Your product is legitimately that much better than competitors. Allows you to get better word of mouth reviews retention etc. (As a note, this is pretty rare)
  3. Operations - Cheaper supply chain/ lower MOQs, better access to financing allowing you to outcompete on either gross margins or cash conversion cycle and funnel more money towards growing your business

#marketing-creatives-lp - August 05, 2023 at 08:42 PM

Like, paid ads or brand or site or what?

#meetups-events - July 21, 2023 at 11:22 PM

I'd join for that

#marketing-cx-cs-retention - July 21, 2023 at 11:21 PM

Have you actually done this? Feels like a good way to make a segment non collegial pretty darn quickly!

#marketing-paid - July 21, 2023 at 11:18 PM

The best luck we've had with pods FWIW is having the podcaster directly use our product and then just do authentic reads about the experience on the show

#marketing-paid - July 21, 2023 at 11:17 PM

Tried that at a previous company. Didn't work just because we weren't able to put enough focus on it to make it good.
