if anyone has recomendations in the manufacturing space for deodorants, body washes, & other personal care items please share! Making to look a switch soon!

I recently made the switch from individual product pages for my deodorants (1 for each fragrance) to a combined page with the ability to choose fragrances. Because of this, I've needed to find places to put information about the new fragrances (while styaing in my template guidelines, I don't know how to code). I like the idea of adding some additional content maybe some photos with text overlay about each fragrance or something along those lines!

Totally agree about the bundle pricing as well, need to bring this together more seamlessly from product page!

Thanks for taking the time to provide some feedback 🙌 @Jocelyn Dunkley

Thank you for the feedback!

Traffic is coming from meta ads mostly at the moment. I believe the conversion rates should be higher than 1-3% if its a lower priced product like deodorant?

If anyone has time and wants to roast/provide feedback on my website, I would love it! Always trying to refine and make tweaks to improve conversion rates (currently sitting at 5%).

If any body has any personal care/grooming manufacturs please share info! Trying to locate a solid, responsive team to work with. Seems to be difficult! Thank you!

will dm you when im back at my computer - its minimal though as I would like to not have that be the foundation of my business and find other ways to drive revenue

deodorant repurchase rate seems to range from 1-3 months depending on the specific person (how much they use, how much are they sweating, how many applications per day, etc). Still waitning for more of that data (i've only been live for 2 months or so)

#general-chat - November 06, 2024 at 09:55 PM

Yes, I collect reviews and currently have a 10-15% repurchase rate (because its deodorant some people havent gone through their sticks yet so repurchase rate numbers probably not very accurate at the moment)

Im still in the "get product in as many peoples hands as possible" stage as opposed to the "need to be profitable right now" stage

Ya, this free stick for first time customer idea would kind of being throwing unit economics out the window in hopes that the amount of new customers that come in the door could be monetized on their second purchase + become loyal customers. On the flip side, there will be people who just want the free product and never come back.

More so just thinking of creative ways to really open the flood gates and attract customers for the first time (yes I would be losing money, but I would think I would get alot of first time orders if giving a stick away for free)

#general-chat - November 06, 2024 at 09:39 PM

yes I have been increasing my average order value by offering body wash + ability to buy all 3 deodorants at a discount.

Has anyone ever tried giving away a free product for first time customers?

My most popular/baseline product is $15 (natural deodorant) - that also seems to be the CAC through META. $15 + $6 Cost = $21 per customer through meta for me.

Part of me is wondering if I offer first time customers a free stick of deodorant ($6 value for me) - I would probably capture alot more emails to retarget for 2nd time purchases and get a lot more folks to try the product initially (which hopefully would turn into bigger customer base).

Curious if anyone has thought about this or tried this. Thanks!

What is more important to focus on in the beginning stages of a brand.
1. Profitability
2. Repurchase rate of customers
Is building a loyal fanbase for your products more valuable than being profitable in the beginning?

Is "customer accounts" automatically turned on when you launch a shopify store? Youre saying this should be shut off to increase conversion rates?

#general-chat - October 29, 2024 at 05:06 PM

I've been thinking about trying to create a community around my 2nd time purchasers where I can offer them free samples for feedback, get ideas on new products to launch, use them for testing new products, etc. Curious if anyone has tried this and been successful? If so, where is the best place to do this? Slack/Discord?

Seems like building a community around your repeat customer base could really help them stay engaged with the brand and you could roll out some cool things to that audience.

Curious to hear anyones thoughts/experiences here!

Does anyone have a contract they have used that is pretty standard for first time influencer partnerships/affiliates?

#general-chat - October 25, 2024 at 08:46 PM

Thank you for laying that out! I am going to play around with a few things that might help me reach that first order profitability (instead of free shipping maybe doing "Spend $50 get free shipping". I see a lot of websites doing this to drive up AOV which would help quite a bit to reach first order profitability! Seems worth exploring!
