Interesting breakdown <@U08GMTJRYJD>! That Gdoc is super useful. 100% agree with you, its going to be tough to regulate on excluding/segmenting. Even with gray area interpretation of the law and what a “customer” actually is and if you can actually send to them, its an expensive and risky way to FAFO.

@Kate Flynn depends, some brands have us handle their transaction based emails via klaviyo, especially if they’re using wonderment, but some just keep marketing on klaviyo and transaction on Shopify. It depends on what your preference is, there’s really no wrong answer

@Doug Darroch Sendlane’s customer services is the best I’ve seen in the industry. I would say they’re on the same tier as klaviyo in regards to email & sms, with better pricing. Highly recommend checking them out. @Jimmy Kim Can definitely tell you more about that 😉

Attentive does overatribute revenue, they lock you into a contract, and you have to reach out to a rep to export lists. Big no-no for us. We prefer klaviyo for sms if they already have email because of shared data, and easier to track results via one platform. Sendlane is also a great combo with email and SMS

Segment down to most engaged users last 30-45D
With every send expand that by 10-15D until you’re able to send to the master list no problem.
Took us about 5 weeks of sending to get back to normal

Dmarc has put some of our clients in a tough spot deliverability wise, but we were able to get that back to normal standards after redoing our segments

@Omer Bar only thing to consider here is to segment the audiences a bit more if you’re sending out a few emails per day, perhaps segmenting based on purchase behavior and crosselling between products that people haven’t bought yet.

@Rishi Ghiraiya I don’t have much experience with Meta shop, but a few things that you could do:
• Have a flow filter for the welcome flow for people that ONLY went through a popup can go through welcome (easily setup within Klaviyo)
• Maybe have a unique code to FB, and split those users up based on if they submitted via popup or used a specific code for purchase via Meta Shop

Hey @Ben B this should be something that Klaviyo is adding in automatically to your emails. I’ve checked in with multiple clients and emails that we get in our burner account and the unsub link has been added automatically to the top. Hope this helps!

Hey @Rishi Ghiraiya if you’re on klaviyo and you setup the dedicated (branded) sending domain, they will automatically create a sub domain for you. I actually made a video on how to setup your account for the upcoming sender requirements here.

All my shopify folk probably got this email a few days talking about setting up your Dmarc records or your emails will be marked as spam by Gmail or Yahoo (because of the new sender requirements becoming active in February).

@Bernadette Judd not sure whe the entire context of the email is, but I think having somethign like this is a good idea, just very small small though. If you’re trying to play on scarcity or urgency it should ideally be the first thing a customer sees so they’re more inclined to buy. Just my 2 🪙
