I have seen very different results in these tactics. General consensus, works better for lower priced products (which is more impulse buy) than higher priced products, but also exceptions to make there. I would advise to just test it honestly

Indeed just cancel. We lost quite a bit of money before because of them. General rule is just to cancel them instead of gambling on if it might be someone genuine (if it is, they will reach out either way is my experience)

We've done that in the past, but most of the times sales were dissappointing the days after Cyber Monday, as most people already bought during the weekend, and most people in general already made their purchases. So this year we'll not do it, as it also is a bit of a trust factor, especially if you say it will stop and it won't, people can feel fooled and it can influence retention rates.
