Looking for alternative traffic acquisition recommendations for a brand in the adult toys/women's wellness category. Anticipating more ad restrictions from Meta/Google and looking to have other options available to quickly transition budget to in the event our accounts get shut down.

I'd say it depends on a handful of factors:
• Which specific gift guides (Highly trafficked?, audience alignment with ICP, what position in the gift guide, etc.)
• Is there a flat fee associated with inclusion
Sometimes it's just a matter of outreach and the right affiliate offer to be included and the right gift guides can do wonders for a brand, especially around this time of year.

There's not a ton of difference between the traditional affiliate partners, I'd say it's more preference based. Impact tends to have more custom features when compared to Rakuten, Awin, etc. but they're all old clunky tracking platforms
Many of the gift guides/product recommend pubs utilize skimlinks which each of the platforms mentioned above have partnerships with. But you can also work with skimlinks directly.
The platform you choose won't get you into the gift guides, that will all come down to outreach and relationships you build

In full transparency I have not played with this yet, but I've followed this guy for good incrementality testing knowledge in the past and apparently they just released a tool for setting up and running incrementality tests. Free for 6 months

Lots of trash in affiliate. Makes sense to have a smaller, more qualified roster of partners versus the mass influx of coupon and deals sites that most of the affiliate platforms recommend to you

I'd keep an eye on a lot of the affiliate network partners. I dig into them often via more reports>Performance by Partner Shared Id and then filter by the specific partner your digging into. That and the Performance by Full Referring URL will help you identify any funny business.
A lot of partners will get banned from the program but sneak into your program via affiliate networks and this is a good way to catch them. You can then setup custom payouts by shared id preventing them from taking higher commission payouts

If anything the presence on the coupon site can cause them to steal last click attribution credit from your actual performing partners. Which if adjusted to a low percentage would save you on commission payouts, but I don't view this as being a moral/ethical way to run your affiliate program.

I'd recommend turning it off if you're just seeing coupon and cash back type sites.
I believe they also have a partner account on Impact if you still want to maintain a partnership with them, but I don't think that's even worth it. If you do decide to partner with them on Impact, I'd adjust the commission down as low as possible (0.1% or lower)
It'll drive revenue still and give you an opportunity to have some visibility on the coupon/cashback sites they're associated with, but I don't believe those are actually driving any incremental revenue.

In my experience the manual method works better and also gives valuable experience to understand your niche across multiple platforms (IG, TikTok, Youtube, etc.). Recommend doing this internally or hiring a professional team to help you out.

If they really want to work with you, ask them to create something before sending product out. e.g. "I can't wait for my order of... to come in". or "I just partnered with BRAND and I can't wait to try out..."
This has helped me qualify legit partners, avoid getting ghosted, and at a bare minimum gets you one piece of awareness content in front of their audience.

What brand is this for Nick? In my experience, the marketplace route doesn't tend to work well. You get general partners who tend to lack any true passion for the product they're reviewing.
It's better to have an active recruitment effort so that you can find partners with true alignment to the brand. This also helps to avoid any agent/management costs.
Additionally this can work towards your effort of finding solid UGC partners as many quality YT creators also have a decent following on social.

Consumer app with no purchase or ecommerce component. There is a gaming and banking aspect of it that the owner is looking to grow.
Would leverage email and push notifications for app engagement, and moving along the journey to sign up/engage with the wallet and credit card component.
