If prompts are the new programming language, then damn, they are about to get so crazy.

I’ve been seeing this first hand playing with Shopify Magic, and promoted into a lot of weird scenarios that took like 15min to get to.

but all this promoting led to a classic question: where do I put these things? I do I find better ways to prompt Shopify’s new AI tools?

so I got to prompting to solve this and build a Shopify app in 24 hours to solve this need, and so say hello to Magic Prompts!

Your incredibly simple tool for storing prompts you worked hard to make and access often.

right now we are in single player mode, but if you install now you can opt in to multiplayer mode and open source a few of your prompts to join the crowd source action soon!

Done counting your 💵 money from the BFCM weekend yet?

Well if you’re a brand, agency, community manager, or a stakeholder looking to earn more from your influencers & affiliates I got the next thing to look forward to right here.

Every brand with eyes & ears is going to be stepping up their word-of-mouth strategies in 2025. But - if you do the same thing as everyone else, where does that leave you in the grand scheme of things?

Winning brands are going to take a deeper look at the ENTIRE affiliate funnel. From posting/sharing, to the actual shopping experience. This means grabbing your eComm managers by the collar, and pulling them in the room to talk about how the brand can collectively improve conversions for all sources of affiliate traffic.

We’re hosting a webinar next week on this topic exactly.

Come join the discussion!

Also - if you want to avoid discounts, but still offer an exciting referral experience you can pursue experiential concepts like co-branded landing pages.

Stoked to be announcing our new integration with Social Snowball ⛄ today.

Looking ahead, any merchant can now leverage Social Snowball as a foundation platform for affiliate/influencer recruitment, management, payouts, and can use CreatorCommerce is to issue unique co-branded shops to participants.

Check it out if affiliate performance is top of mind for 2024.

#bfcm - November 20, 2023 at 06:00 PM

Wanted to share this cherry on top strategy for week-of BFCM planning... While planning is (hopefully) fully wrapped and ideally being deployed, there’s still one last low-tech and extremely easy effort to pursue.

Bulk email any past & present affiliates/influencers/top customers you’ve worked with, and throw out a day, time, and time zone you’d like them to plug your BFCM sale at. These should be individuals who’ve onboarded to your brand, and should have affiliate links in hand already. Let them know that if they do post, and reply to you with proof of such, that you’ll shoot them over a $20,$40,$100, etc gift card.

The purpose here is to stay top of mind for those net-promoters of your business who have a gazillion brands they could plug on their feeds. They are just as distracted with BFCM collaboration offers as consumers, so this is really just a strategy to reinforce any creator-led strategies you have underway. It’s also extremely low effort, and the cost is relatively low (and a “good” cost to have). If it’s a success, you’ll get to leverage a coordinated sounding board to signal the start of your sales, and if it’s a failure, you’re out nothing at all.

Good luck out there this week everyone!

The creator-to-consumer concept is becoming a growing one. There’s a few companies starting to do this now. I made a video to showcase why the creator/influencer/affiliate shop concept can make sense, and why it’s a good strategy for if you have no budget for influencers, but you still want to make commission-based influencer models work for yourself: https://youtu.be/jyqcRhyalfo?feature=shared

#marketing-creatives-lp - November 08, 2023 at 12:05 AM

A good 1,2,3 is:
• turn customer into affiliates & see if you already have these influencers as customers (use Social Snowball in this case)
• Use Shopify collabs for manual recruitment if you don’t have budget
• Finally, there’s many agencies you could turn to (if you need recs), but candidly it’s good to validate by DM’ing on TikTok or Instagram to test a few messaging lines

#marketing-creatives-lp - November 07, 2023 at 04:28 PM

We got you, checkout https://creatorcommerce.shop

We help prevent that leakage, integrate with Social Snowball too, and are completely focussed on bringing performance to affiliate links

Anyone looking for a part-time or full-time remote graphic designer? I have a trusted contact looking to explore new opportunities. She has multiple years of experiencing designing eComm materials for beauty companies, and has worked both with startups as well as Unilever brands.

#self-promotion - October 26, 2023 at 07:21 AM

Yes, that’s a good way to think about it. But even better you can integrate with your current affiliate tools to invite affiliates to use this format over affiliate links to get them more excited and to make them more effective.

#self-promotion - October 18, 2023 at 04:34 PM

Wanted to share something my co-founder Chai & I have been cooking up since we left our posts at Tapcart back in June. Been an awesome past couple months shipping a new product that helps merchants focussed on creator-to-consumer, and can’t wait to share how things progress.

Introducing: CreatorCommerce - a tool that enables brands to elevate their influencer & affiliate campaigns by enabling participants to sell from a co-branded & curated shop of their own. Check the video out to see how we got here!

P.S.
@Nik Sharma had a really good segment this season about how “the messaging of your ads needs to carry into the messaging of your landing pages” — and influencer promos are no different. And so as you think about influencer/affiliate in the future, consider how you can maintain that consistency from a social post to a PDP.

Enjoy!

#ops-supply-chain - October 03, 2023 at 05:47 PM

Shopify technically dupes the products, so only hurdle i can imagine long-run is real-time inventory, as idk if it’s done on a recurring sync. If anyone has deep knowledge on this would love to know.

#ops-supply-chain - October 03, 2023 at 05:45 PM

I’ve heard good things - tech is seamless, biggest hurdle is landing those partnerships as it’s a double-opt-in. If you have the partnerships then worth a try!

I do believe you take on the sales tax for the other brand.

thanks for the heads up, try this: https://creatorcommerce.shop/brand-blog-posts/how-ios17-utm-parameter-slicing-will-disrupt-affiliate-links

#ops-supply-chain - September 11, 2023 at 08:43 PM

I wrote a bit more about the upcoming changes to URL Param Slicing in iOS 17 (as first mentioned by Nik & Mois on the pod), but summarized it below. Hard to say if this will commence in 17.0 in entirety, or if it will also continue to ramp its effect with minor versions like 17.5. With the major changes to ad tracking transparency (ATT) in iOS14, we saw the heaviest came into effect in iOS14.5.

UTMs will be trimmed with Apple access points: iMessage, Apple Mail, Safari opens (Too early to say if this will include going from instagram to a Safari browsing experience - if someone tested this they should chime in)

But none the less, here’s 5 ideas for what to do when you start to notice the impact:
• Use unique short-links to essentially replace UTMs, once short-link does the redirect you can add the short-link back in (Any link shortener would due fine here)
• Use unique landing pages where appropriate instead, and rely more of page slugs, and adding UTMs with button clicks (invest in a landing page tool you really love, as you’d be making many of them, with dupes & all)
• (For affiliate marketing) Enable affiliates to sell on their own domains/channels such as their own shops
• Lean into using more post purchase surveys for closing the loop on attribution
• Or - do nothing, and see if this even impacts revenue. Us humans too often over-obsess over data, and we may find that the pull backs aren’t enough to tamper with our prior marketing experiences. But that said, If you are using UTMs for something critical like auto-applying discount codes, I’d try to refactor UTM usage for reporting only, and nothing functional.
It appears that some UTMs are unaffected at this stage, while core ad tracking params are removed, but given they up restrictions with new releases that doesn’t tell us much.

If you want to proactively source I recommend testing on Shopify Collabs, and would be happy to help you here.

But also if you want to passively turn customers into affiliates, or even find influencers shopping with you already I recommend SocialSnowball

#marketing-cx-cs-retention - August 31, 2023 at 10:54 PM

There was an interesting article put out by The Information earlier this week, showing how despite the downturn in investment/funding for creator tools, that creators seem to be doing swell in terms of capturing marketing spend. The working theory is that creators are still too frugal & focused on income to want to invest & distract themselves in paid/alternative tools at this point.

What does this mean for DTC? The industry should continue to see creators looking to find ways to win big & work hard for brand income. Don’t be fooled by the big contracts from big creators, as discretionary income across the creator industry is still quite low, and the vast majority of creators still work full time jobs & want to make this their primary gig. As you work with more micro-influencers there should be more & more motivation to perform & earn that budget from you.

My 2 cents:
• Don’t let great, proven creators pass you by, take care of them & try to nurture & further integrate them into your brand
• Coach them, creators are fantastic at creating & earning attention, but that doesn’t mean they understand the laws of conversion/commerce. Try to give them tips on link placements & strategies to make it easier for folks to buy
• I often hear brands struggling to find good creators, and I say keep your head down, and stay at it. Finding a handful of good ones can change everything. Feel free to DM if you have any particular situations you’re looking for help with.

Hi everyone! Looking for Shopify Collabs users if there are any in here. We are working on a tool/strategy that helps influencers better execute on the collab once they get their affiliate link/code. Want to get some feedback, second opinions, and possibly some testers to try it out!

Agree with Ahmad here - revshare should be the move (to start), just make sure it’s mutual. You want to put them in a position where they hustle, and so just consider a rate that’s interesting for both parties. Remember that a higher rate just gets more attention compared to other offers they are prioritizing.

#general-chat - April 21, 2023 at 11:29 PM

But what i’m saying is that a marketplace needs to attract supply & demand. While Kith just needs to attract demand (given they are the supply).

Amazon for sure is blurred lines these days - I’m just stating an opinion (that’s far from fact) on how I see the difference.

#general-chat - April 21, 2023 at 09:41 PM

who owns the products at the time of them being listed for sale is the question I would think

#general-chat - April 21, 2023 at 09:40 PM

it would depend on if Kith owns the 3rd party supply or not, as in, are the suppliers choosing to sell products on Kiths site? or is Kith procuring products, and selling the products on their site. that’s the difference.

#ops-supply-chain - April 19, 2023 at 12:24 AM

70% of shoppers are mobile so just hone into that. Turn the product cards into 100% width so it’s a 1x3 stack view, since it’s just 3 products, and get more focus on the product detail images.

Also, add human photos to your testimonials so they stand out. Try stock photos or midjourney if that’s what it’s going to take.

I’d try to get your CTAs more into view on mobile. Maybe try moving the image to the background of the text, adding a 5% black overlay to the image, then put the copy and CTAs over the image with white text color.
