@Ash: as someone who asked these questions when we were a similar sized brand, my unsolicited advice is to not get distracted with affiliates at this stage. just focus on the basics and put together a basic customer acquisition funnel. iterate on the basics to death before looking broader at things like affiliates and such

The exception to this was Shopify Subscriptions, the Shopify native app that’s free but very limited in what you’re able to do - managing that was painful, but if you have VERY simple needs it could also be an option (but wouldn’t recommend beyond that)

Yes, most of these platforms make it pretty easy for you to import/export the contracts; for Loop, they white glove you and we had very few issues (always recommend spot-checking the contracts that come in during the migration, a few of those slipped through the cracks and were created using the selling plan from the app we were moving away from)

Aside from that, it seemed like it had a lot of features and was cost effective - we wound up going with Seal since it had every feature we wanted (although we outgrew it and are now on Loop)

Speaking for Laila, we did a pilot of Appstle and wound up not going with them since being able to log in with a passwordless magic link was important to us (as I recall, customers still need to use an email/password to log in via the portal)

I have customers trying to leave us an Amazon review, but they keep getting rejected (ā€œI’ve Tried to Send Review 3X!!! No Response except for 1st X Saying it did not follow guidelines??ā€œ) because they ā€œdon’t follow guidelinesā€.

Any guidance or wisdom here on how to resolve this? Haven’t reached out to Seller Support yet.

@Michael de Lyon: yeah, one thing we plan on doing is getting way more aggressive with retention and churn recovery offers via email; Seal DOES give you a pretty good Klaviyo integration and tag customers with their subscription status. We haven’t experimented with how effective it might be, but we’ll try and counter the lousy cancellation recovery with a offer sequence via email/sms if someone cancels/pauses. We’ll see šŸ™‚

@Mitch Brown: Seal is good. We use them, the pricing is terrific and I refuse to pay the ransom that the bigger apps charge.

Does everything we need it to do - the things it lacks are good dunning/payment failure handling, customer portal is ugly (not a deal-killer; passwordless login is great and you can do some customization here with custom CSS), and there’s no real cancellation recovery (e.g. can’t really show them a retention offer or make a case for them staying)

Any suggestions on how to escalate a Meta account issue? Our business is being restricted from Shops and Collections for some reason, and Meta Support has been supremely unhelpful (ā€œour team could not assist further on this issue as we are limited with our tools to be able to check further on thisā€). I’m confused about free shipping - the badge on the price says ā€œFree Shipping!ā€œ, but when I add to cart there’s a progress bar that says ā€œYou’re $16.01 away from free shippingā€ (the bar is empty, it should be partially full). But based on the badge, I’m expecting free shipping and not getting it šŸ™‚
