i everyone! I’m Tammy and I run a small content agency servicing ecomm and DTC brands. This is after 7 years of writing for both DTC and SaaS brands. (Now that i’m writing it, 7yrs feels so long haha)
I’d love to ask some ecomm folks, what do you think about blog content for e-comm and DTC businesses? I’ve come across quite a lot of these brands that really want to invest in their blogs, especially now that storytelling is becoming more important than ever. But I also thought I’d ask people here. If you run an ecomm business, would you say investing in blog content and strategy is a good move?

For me, yes. I have a women’s health brand, so high quality education is a top priority. One of my blog posts is actually one of my top traffic sources, as consumers are becoming more discerning about their ingredients and starting to research on their own.
It also makes consumers feel more engrained in the community. I will always read the blogs of brands I really like to feel part of things and see how they’re approaching their customers.
I think that long form content might not always be as trendy, but for me, it’s cultivated many returning customers and I’d say that LTV is worth the extra effort.

I would second this. Also in the health space, where this a lot of misinformation and you can get pushed out of the crowd from whatever trend the algorithm of whatever platform is pushing that day.
Blog and video content is such a force multiplier for mid funnel conversion and credibility. I’ve seen, at least with what data stitching I can, users who land on an eComm site first thru a blog post have a higher LTV overall.
For any higher AOV type store…having a content engine is crucial to retain and grow repeat purchase and LTV.

@Valeriya K thanks so much! You’re like, the 4th person in the women’s health industry that told me they value blogs. 🙂 I think this is a specific industry I should explore. Would love to chat with you more, is it ok to msg you?

Thanks so much @Alan Huynh 🙂 Yeah, it seems the health space is something I should explore. I’ve been reaching out to lifestyle and outdoor industries lately (mostly travel bags, luggages, etc) and I’ve been getting some positive feedback but closing deals has been difficult.

@Tammy Pham absolutely! My DMs are open! 😊
