I think a better way to ask this question re Shopify payment processing is in a few parts:

• Shopify always charges a transaction fee, regardless of your payment processor, correct?
• If you also use Shopify as your payment processor, is there an incremental processing fee on top of the transaction fee, or no?
• If you use a different payment processor like Stripe, you should expect to pay Shopify transaction fees and Stripe payment processing fees, yes? Or is this disadvantageous?

  1. For first question I its correct
  2. No, there is no incremental processing fee on top of the transaction fee if you use Shopify as your payment processor. Shopify Payments is Shopify's own payment processor, and it includes the transaction fee in its pricing.
  3. Yes, if you use a different payment processor like Stripe, you will pay Shopify transaction fees and Stripe payment processing fees. This can be disadvantageous, as it can lead to higher overall costs.
