How do you know when itโ€™s time to leave your day job?

Would you be more happy, and can you support yourself financially?

If you have several months savings helps too

So obviously the safest thing to do would be to make sure you have a little safety net to tide you over while you grow your venture... but can I also throw out that sometimes a giant leap of faith works well for people, too.
A client I worked with took a huge risk cos he was mentally declining at his job and couldn't deal with how unhappy and unstable it made him.
Put a biz plan in place, got the basic gear he'd need to start manufacturing/shipping, set up the most basic website, and quit his job. Was in the space of a month or something.
He had a pregnant wife, mortgage etc, so woulda been heck of a scary... but that gave him motivation like a gun to your head!
Just had to make stuff happen and not give up. They're doing good financially (3 years in), but mostly he just emphasizes how much better it is for his mental health.
Guess I'm saying... only you know your reasons for staying, going, waiting, jumping. And only you can balance out the pros and cons cos everyone has different circumstances.

But probably, when you start thinking about it ๐Ÿ˜„ at least, that's prob a good sign to start preparing to leave
